Felice's paper on super-enhancer landscape in liver cancer has been published in Hepatology!
In this study, Felice revealed an extensive super-enhancer (SE) landscape reprogramming during liver carcinogenesis. Cancer cell acquired SE at multiple prominent oncogenes to driven their vigorous expression. Inactivation of the trans-acting SE complex components, CDK7, BRD4, and EP300 selectively repressed the expression of SE-associated oncogenes in liver cancer and suppressed tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo. The findings of this study suggest that targeting SE-complex is a promising therapeutic strategy for HCC treatment. (Tsang FH et al., Hepatology. 2019 Feb 5. doi: 10.1002/hep.30544).
